whatever– and wherever– you need, lumo has you covered. designed around the feeling of “friendly, sophisticated comfort“, lumo provides high function in a beautiful shell.
High function, subtle fashion.
lumo is designed around the softness and comfort of nighttime. initial moodboards explored various environments, textures, and forms that evoked these feelings.
when considering portability as an interaction, lumo becomes an organic sculpture. early concepts explored the interaction between the base and lantern, with the gravity of the lantern gently sinking into the base.
A labor of love (and plastic).

lumo is made of three key components– a translucent outer shell, a handle enclosure, and the base.

the shell and base are 3d-printed and sanded down to achieve a smooth, seamless look.

for prototyping purposes, the base is modeled out of HDPU and further fabricated to achieve a soft, organic look.

When the lights go out, Lumo has you covered in a variety of stylish colors. Comprised of a playful, friendly palette, Lumo accommodates a wide variety of personalities and tastes.
Lumo’s feeling of comfort is achieved through its soft, organic form. The stand is perfectly fitted and makes for an easy mounting experience. Lumo can be moved from stand-to-stand around your space, which opens up your routine to wherever you’re most comfortable.
